Absolutely. Most students start with zero experience.
We guide beginners step-by-step, teaching basics in a fun, confidence-building way.
Every champion once walked in as a complete beginner — that’s the beauty of fencing.
It looks intense, but fencing is surprisingly gentle.
Kids wear full protective gear, movements are controlled, and our coaches keep everything structured.
Think “physical chess” with padding — exciting, but extremely safe.
Absolutely — fencing works beautifully for both personalities.
Shy kids gain confidence because the sport is individual, structured, and allows them to progress at their own pace. They don’t get lost in a big team — they get space to shine.
Energetic kids love the movement, speed, and constant engagement. Fencing gives them a focused outlet where their energy becomes an advantage, not a challenge.
It’s one of the rare sports where quiet kids and high-energy kids can both feel like they belong — and thrive.
Children and teens ages 6–18 can join our fencing programs.
Younger students learn the basics in a fun, structured way, while older athletes progress into more advanced technical and tactical training.
My daughter started with Allegro at the age of 7 and has been with Allegro now for 2 years. She has had tremendous growth under all the coaches, especially Coach Brian. Highly recommend this fencing club and all the knowledgeable and highly skilled coaches!

Boris and Misha have taught both of my children fencing. They are wonderful coaches with hearts of GOLD. Both Boris and Misha helped my oldest daughter when she was recruited for College Fencing. Her college fencing coaches have commented to me how well trained in fencing my daughter is. Now my youngest is pursuing the same as her older sister because she watched her have a wonderful journey with these coaches.

We have been fencing at Allegro for over 5 years now. We started as youths, and are now competitive highschool fencers. The advanced classes help you improve your techniques and the conditioning class helps you become stronger overall. The coaches are nice and encouraging, and push us to reach our potential.
